I like people and things I read, to get me thinking, to see things from a whole new perspective, to drag me outside the box. I like to sit alone and ponder things, switch them around in my head, try them on for size, see if they fit in my heart. I like to be challenged. I guess this was why I was able to shift to this new paradigm relatively easy. I was open and hungry for a new way of being, I accepted the challenge that said ” Can you learn to let go and go with the flow in a new direction?” There was that challenge that fired me up! It’s good to set up challenges for yourself, it spurs you on and pushes your buttons. That is why I find it so hard to live in the world as it is today without residing in my spiritual heart. In the regular world everything feels dead and frozen in time to me. It reminds me of the Stepford wives, everyone seems to be walking around in a daze, not exercising their brains or stepping outside of their boxes, like everyone is being held in place by their own invisible, underground dog fences. I’ve seen photos online of black friday and they made me weep. A picture of hoards of people straining to get under a partially opened overhead security gate at a big box store, unable to even wait for it to open entirely. It made me realize just how far we have to go to wake up. Those people have been hypnotized by corporate America to buy, buy, buy. If only I could awaken them and save them from what they are doing. Heck, even George Bush told our country to go shopping after 9-11!! That was truly surreal and unbelievable. We weren’t asked to or offered help to, process the horror of what we just witnessed. No, go stuff the corporate pockets some more, go shopping! We are so being led down the wrong path here. Time to get the old brains thinking and stretch ourselves in new directions. Grab hold of a new idea and go get quiet with yourselves and try it on for size.
It really pains my heart to see so many lost souls who didn’t have to end up being this way. Yes they are responsible for their actions, they allowed themselves to be taken over, but only because someone had figured out their weak places and preyed upon them. It is what keeps me reaching out to try to help people see a new way of looking at life. I feel like I am debriefing a world after being brainwashed. Are we so controlled, like the Black Friday shoppers, we can no longer think for ourselves? And what of our children? Are we challenging them enough, are schools, to reach for what they want? It seems they have been given everything for so long they no longer have that desire within to reach beyond for what they want. Have corporations crept into our children’s lives and altered how they perceive the world? Are we as parents intervening enough to protect them from the same brainwashing the Black Friday shoppers have been getting? These are the dangers of being asleep. Corporations are insidious and clever and will stop at nothing to take control of our lives and our minds and yes our wallets. What will this world be like as it ages? They always say our brains are like muscles that will atrophy if we don’t exercise them, especially as well grow old. If so few people are thinking for themselves and their brains are not being exercised, then what will a world full of saggy brains be like to live in? We just have to awaken and begin to use our own minds again. I am sad to see the book beginning to be pushed aside to make way for the kindle. I cannot imagine it is the same to sit and read a story on an electronic device, compared to holding a book, the feel of the paper as you turn the page, the smell of the paper and having to find something to use as a book mark when you have finished reading. Can you get taken to magical far away places on a kindle like you can from a book? I hope so. Let us be brave and open our minds to new ways of being and keep them challenged and exercised!
Blessings to you all,
