Reliving The Sixties…

I was listening to these songs today and it brought back a rush of memories to me. As horrific as the Vietnam era was on so many levels, it was a significant time as well. It was a time of major consciousness shifting for the world. It was so major it has left indelible images in our minds of who we were at that time, what we thought and what we believed in. I truly believe we are in the middle of another major shift, the only difference we don’t have music to capture it as we did back then. Maybe we do, maybe its just me aging and not being so much a part of the music scene, but it doesn’t seem like we have songs that capture our hearts and minds like we did back then, songs that will hold our memories decades from now. Still it is a momentous time, you can feel it growing around us, pushing something of importance to the surface.

I think back in the sixties we were in the process of changing the world forever and somehow it feels as if this time around we are completing that change and becoming a  whole new species. Everything about the old paradigm is crashing in flames around us everyday, the majority of the people no longer willing to listen to lies, awakened they struggle to make sense of the insanity that surrounds them. There is little logic in the world today, just snippets of schizophrenic behavior, paranoia and psychotic thinking. I would imagine for many these appear to be frightening times, but really we need to embrace them, for they are part of a new world unfolding. Back in the sixties when we were diving under desks to protect ourselves from bombs there was still an element of trust we were feeling as the hippies carried us into the world of love and peace. We made it through and hold many of the memories fondly within us.  We are doing this again, we must trust and have faith.

There is an excitement in the air along with the fatigue we are feeling from this long struggle to find ourselves. The battle has been fierce and unending, but we stagger on over the next hill and around the next corner, still holding onto hope that the end is near and light and love will finally conquer the dark. We have not a clue what lies ahead in this next era we are now entering, but we still harbor that same gutsy determination to see this through to the end. I realize only the aging hippies can really relate to this post, it is in many ways another call to arms such as we have been through before. The love of the sixties is still with us only now it holds far deeper meaning than free love and flowers this time. It is our savior, the key to the next door we must go through on this journey. We almost had it right in the sixties, but we didn’t fully realize that love held all the answers and once we mastered it, peace would follow. This is a very exciting time indeed and it is important to cast the fear aside and immerse ourselves in what is taking place and ride it out to the end.

Blessings to us all,

Visionkeeper

  1. Loved reading and remembering VK…. Living as a teenager in the 60’s brings back good memories as well as those haunting ones of Vietnam. .. Even though the UK wasn’t part of it, the war there was prominent, and I remember seeing some horrific images that still to this day remain in my memory banks..
So goodness only knows how those veterans cope!..
You are so right too about needing to go through this particular door on our journey.. An astrologer blogger said something interesting as the Grand Cross alignment came into being that the charts had not been like this since the 60’s.. So I am not surprised you are relating to that era now….
I hope once again when people do take to their Mass feelings in the street.. they put flowers in their hair and chant the Word Peace,..
I loved the music you chose, and even to this day those records of the 60’s and the 70’s are still among the best…

Enjoy your week VK… and I am now reliving the 60’s literally LOL 🙂 xxxx

Hey DW….Thanks Girl…..Yeah, the 60’s were the best despite the horrific nature of them. So mind bending on many fronts. We are repeating that moment yet again but with different consciousness. I never tire of remembering those times. Of course I wasn’t in Vietnam…Big difference. Bless all those who fought and sacrificed over there. They are an honored part of shifting the consciousness!!! Rock on girl….Enjoy! Thanks for popping in. Blessings and love to you….VK xxoo

Ditto, VK, this old hippie does remember indeed and I have to believe we are strong enough and loving enough — experienced enough — to take it all the way. Last time we were ‘in the ’60’s’. Now we’re ‘in OUR 60’s’, and the neat thing is we’ve got the ‘been there’ part down to an art, now it’s the ‘done that’ part that we’re working on. Your three songs are definitely in my faves, too. Love, B.

Great minds think alike 🙂 Get your groove on girl and enjoy your summer despite all the crap going on…The sixties were the best of times no matter the anguish, this time will prove to superior……Love to you….VK
